Is there a way to tell which phone company a telephone number is connected to?

I have reason to believe that someone is using my name to keep telephone service and I want to check to make sure before I start with accusations.
This person is using my name to get phone service for themselves in a different state. I am in no way conntected to this phone number except that I suspect the bill is in my name.

Yes, there’s a way to know this but this information is usually not made available to common man,except the people who work in MOC (ministry of communications).
In every country,all the fixed line service providers and mobile phone companies are provided with a “number range” which they sell to their customers.This “number range” is referred to as “Numbering Plan” of every mobile/fixed service provider company.
But I see your question is somewhat not related to this. If I understood correct,you just need to know if another person is using your telephone number …right?
Or another different number is being used under your name?
In both these cases, all you need to do is – launch a complaint to all mobile operators stating your doubt. But they might charge you an amount to help you in this.
