Skype Handset
I was goin to using Skype but wanted to get feedback from others who use it. first off I dont have a web cam?
I dont want to use it for that purpose not yet anyway. I use Grandcentral right now but I need a different area code..Im looking for a service that will let me CHOOSE my area code and let me call forward that number to my cell phone or house phone so I can use my phone not a handset or my microphone.
I also heard SKype uses SMS you see there are certain people that I want to get to know but dont want them to have my actual number. I will also like to text my associates using my skype number not my actual number..online friends people I just met at the club etc..Business associates you know
With everything said if anyone knows of a service that meet those requirements preferably free like Grancentral but unlikely I know lol..I want to make outgoing calls and receive them on a number of my choice and possibly send SMS with that same number

Skype works fine for me. It will do the forwarding and letting you choose the area code. Skype does SMS but I don’t know if it can be setup the way you want it. I suggest you go the skype users forum and post your question there.
